Here comes the second week of February 2023. And a lot of people in India are eagerly waiting for this season to express their love. On the other side we heard about a lot of people and institutions in India who wait to oppose this Valentine’s day. Treating it as an influence of western world on our society, which should not be celebrated in our country. Being a part of a global era where we respect and appreciate all other tradition, religion, culture as a secular and responsible citizen of India and on the other hand we are still practicing our beliefs and staying true to our roots. But the question is why we should celebrate valentine’s day in this new India and how we can blend this western celebration with Indian tradition. And the greater question is are we qualified to compete with the influence of western culture in 2023.
As long as we are contributing to the economy, one must celebrate and encourage valentine day celebration in India. As in modern times we must find ways to spend and boost up our economy keeping in mind our social goals. Or we can find ways how valentine day can benefit our small manufacturing units who are producing supplies to meet up the hype during valentine week and capture the local toys market from China. We have to leave conservative mindset and develop our own tradition of celebrating valentine’s day. We often see our motivational spiritual leaders describing their point of view on the ways how one must celebrate this day in our culture. And our platform is another way, how you can give this day a meaning in your life by giving love to those orphans who need it the most.
With an increasing network of roads and infrastructure across nation we might think ourselves compatible to celebrate these modern days celebrations, which may increase our influence in front of others but when it comes to our institutions we are a way behind and not even ready to make comparisons with them. It’s the reality that we don’t even stand in front of them when it comes to foster care or orphanage homes. They are a way ahead in providing advanced facilities to those kids who are left alone in this world and are struggling in their lives and here in India we are not even close to providing basic nutritional value required for their individual growth. And forget about the technology, as these kids have no footprints in this digital era. For our nation’s growth we need to stand, raise and address all sectors of our society then only we can dream of a prosperous developed nation.
